Introducing
Null.

Loop, a laser-based shotgun, and Bird, an autonomous drone target, replace traditional clay pigeon shooting equipment with a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive system.

Flight, Hit, Return

Flight, Hit, Return

Pull!

Upon “Pull!”, Bird launches forward in a clean arc—mimicking the flight of a clay disc and setting the stage for action.

Take off & fly

Bird launches and flies toward a designated direction, just like a traditional clay disc soaring across the sky.

Detect & drop

When it detects a hit, Bird brakes mid-air and dives dramatically, mimicking the fall of a bird.

Reset & ready

After landing, Bird flies back to its starting point, ready for the next round.

Adjustable Difficulty Discs

Changeable reflective discs make the target easier or harder to hit, adapting to player skill and training goals.

Hot-Swappable Battery

Replace batteries on the fly to keep Bird airborne with minimal interruption.

Designed to Break and Return.

Built to withstand hits but easy to repair, with replaceable parts that keep Bird flying again and again.

Interchangeable Aiming Module

Easily swap aiming guides to match skill levels or personal preferences.

Bolt Position Adjustment

Customize the location of the bolt (breech) for different shooting styles and user preferences.

Shoulder Pad Adjustment

Customize the location of the bolt (breech) for different shooting styles and user preferences.

Hot-Swappable Battery

Quick battery replacement keeps you shooting without downtime.

Recoil Simulation

A built-in motor replicates authentic shotgun recoil, with adjustable intensity to suit different users and training scenarios.

Shooting, redefined.

No shells. No waste. Just light, motion, and precision.

A Sport with Heritage
and Problems

Clay pigeon shooting has a long history rooted in British traditions. But its wasteful materials, reliance on firearms, and exclusionary culture have become challenges for a changing world.

Today, the sport faces two major issues:

  • A wasteful sport, littered with broken clays and shells.

  • A market constrained by gun restrictions and cultural shifts.

Design Criteria

Design Criteria

With more women, younger players, and gamers entering the shooting space, the sport needs to evolve.

Our design focuses on three principles:

  • More sustainable — removing wasteful consumables

  • Preserve the fun — keeping the thrill of shooting alive

  • Made for diversity — welcoming more people into the experience

Design Process

I started with a series of full-scale mockups, testing and refining the ergonomics through three iterations of cardboard models — each improving on comfort and fit. I then moved into digital modeling, using tools like SolidWorks and Gravity Sketch to fine-tune the form before building the final model.
